Why does weight loss stop? Weight loss can stop after a month of dieting and calorie reduction by why is this?
Weight loss can completely stop or slow to very slow amount after around four weeks of dieting.
So why does this happen?
1. Your body sometimes just wants a rest! After around a month your body just might have had enough of the calorie reduction.
2. The amount of calories you are consuming is equal to the amount of calories your are burning. If your calorie intake is just too low, your body
might think you are starving, so your metabolism will decrease rapidly. Therefore no more weight loss.
So is it possible to start losing again - Yes.
1. Try to raise your metabolism (and the amount of calories you are using) by increasing your activity and exercise. Boosting your metabolic rate will re-ignite your weight loss. For example if you are exercising for around 20 minutes a day increase this to 30 minutes. If your exercise pattern is quite hard already try to vary your exercise pattern.
2. Avoid long periods when you are not eating. Going for long periods when you are not eating will make you stop losing weight. For women each some fruit every 3 hours and for men every 5 hours, this will just help your body to think food is plentiful and will trick your body into calorie burning.
3. Have a little patients! You will start losing again but you may have go wait around four weeks. Keep focussed and stay motivated.
